Sapper John Duncan Nicholson
703673 Sapper John Duncan Nicholson was born in Glasgow Scotland on November 14, 1880. He enlisted at the age of 35 in the 102nd (Comox-Atlin) Bn. C.E.F on February 19, 1916 in Vancouver B.C. were he was working as a seaman on the ferry service.
Sapper Nicholson's death on April 10, 1919 was attribute to his military service. His CWGC Certificate of Remembrance only has his deceased mother as next of kin. He is buried in Newmarket, Ontario.

Private Walter Colbran
3130414 Private Walter Colbran was born in 1886, there is no attestation paper available in the archives. I am assuming that he was from the Newmarket area as this is were he is buried and that is were his parents resided, or at least his mother did at the time of his death on February 3, 1918 at the age of 33. A CWGC designation indicates that Private Colbran died as a direct result of his military service. It is not known if he was killed in action or died at a later date. The last major battle that the Canadians were involved just prior to his death was the Battle of Passchendaele.

Private Ernest Goldwin Scott
2217826 Private Ernest Goldwin Scott was born in Tecumseh, Ontario on August 2, 1896. He was drafted under the Military Service Act of 1917 on October 27, 1917 at the age of 21. At the time of his call up he was residing in Tottenham, Ontario and was a farmer by trade. He was placed in a reserve battalion by May of 1918 and it is doubtful that he saw much action if any at all. His marker does not indicate his date of death, simply his service particulars.

Private George Blencowe
136309 Private George Blencowe was born in Northampton England on September 30, 1871. At the time of his enlistment in Toronto on August 17, 1915. Private Blencowe was one month shy of the cut off age for enlistment, 45 years. Private Blencowe resided in Newmarket and was single, his trade was listed as a labourer. He had served in the 12th York Rangers prior to his enlistment, but was not serving in any militia regiment at the time.
Private Blencowe would eventually die on March 22, 1933 at the age of 61.

Private William Alexander Amos
928834 Private William Alexander Amos was born in Puslich, (near Cambridge), Ontario on December 11, 1882. At the time of his enlistment on April 26, 1916 he was residing in Guelph, Ontario with his wife Frances and was a blacksmith by trade. Private Amos eventually died on April 4, 1923 at the age of 41, five years after returning from his military service.
