Private John Espey P.P.C.L.I

473215 Private John Espey was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario on April 8, 1887.  He enlisted at the age of 28 in the P.P.C.L.I  on August 19, 1915 in The Pas, Manitoba.  At the time of his enlistment he was single and a carpenter by trade. His attestation papers indicate that he did have previous military service, but it is not listed with what regiment or how long.  Private Espey would return from his service in France and eventually die on January 31, 1961 at the age of 73.
